2449 - Kenos
This night I went on a asteroid hunting bonanza! This night I photographed a whopping four different asteroids, ranging in magnitude from 14 to 17. The difference between the brightest and the dimmest is HUGE! This image shows the faintest one, at magnitude 17.06. The asteroid is called 2449 Kenos and is only approx. 3km wide. It wasn't discovered until in 1978, and even more recently (2015), a moon orbiting the asteroid was discovered. I had a BLAST this night hunting these asteroids, I would never have guessed it's so fun to try to find these faint objects. I think asteroids are turning into my new hobby!
